Two trees

(Again a word that you can’t translate properly in English … literally it means someone who storms a peak)
Pilatus
I’ve been living two years in Lucerne and in these two years I’ve never been to the Pilatus. Last tuesday a friend of mine called me and proposed to crest it. So the day after we took the bus to the teleferic station, went to the first station Krienseregg and walked the rest (1100m altitude difference). In general all the tourists stay in the teleferic till they reach the top, then they walk around and after a while they just take the teleferic back. We decided to take a little mountain trail on the back side which is fare more beautiful than being squeezed in a teleferic cabin.

On the way we glimpsed a Capricorn, but they seem to be used to tourists.

And of course I had to stop when I saw these thistles.

Denti della Vecchia
In the evening we went south and took the train to Lugano. Yesterday we put on our hiking boots again and went to the Denti della Vecchia, which means “Teeth of the Old Woman” in Italian, some impressive rocks near Lugano. Sometimes I felt like walking through a landscape out of some fantasy epic …

The view was better than on the Pilatus …

Finally some other flowers ^^

Did I mention that I had a job for my holidays? Maybe someone’s wondering why I got the time for drawing … well, I won’t work this week. They haven’t got work for me. It’s annoying me (I really need the money for drawing / art material, holidays in England and Prague, for travelling in Switzerland when Dalvia comes …), but I’m doing the best out of my free time, so I go out drawing. Enjoy the gorgeous view of the amazing Pilatus and the lovely Hofkirche in Lucerne!
By the way, it’s really cold here, I had to wear a pullover AND a jacket.

I haven’t used watercolors for a while, but now I bought some new colors and went downtown to the lake for a test. Since I live in Lucerne, I don’t really notice the mountains anymore (I’m complaining non-stop that they retain the clouds and that it’s raining all the time), but yesterday evening there were some dramatical clouds creeping over the ridges, like on a chinese ink painting, and I was suddenly aware again how beautiful they are.

And some other sketches out of my sketchbook
